Are there still guys who "buy" wives from other countries? Why do these guys do this? Are men who marry mail order brides sleazy, or just really sad and desperate?

Any man that has to order a woman online or from another country do this because they are socially disfunctional with severe childhood issues. These men cannot deal with interacting with everyday woman so they have to pay for someone to put up with them and tolerate their behaviors. They do it for power and control and the women are starving in their country and have no choice but to prostitute themselves.

Well how about clearing something up first,, Mail order Brides does not mean someone is paying to take her with him, the term is there because the single women have their pictures in a catalog and so when you find one you like you start a relationship and because so much of it was done by mail to meet them, and then they do get married if it gets that far,, But you may be suprised how nice that can be,, Asian women say in the Phillippines have not become "Americanized" they still treat people with respect, and do what was demmed as the Wifes job around the house, so its not about sick or sleazy, its about wanting a woman that is true in her heart, And Hey
MikeNY ,, you seem to have no friggen idea what the hell you are talking about Oh unless you have researched the mail order bride history,, So if I sit here and say your a Candy As* pansy does that mean I am right,, ? I had dated a gal that her first time to the states was the Mail order, She was sweet, Beautiful, very nice, hard worker, wonderful sense of humor, all the things I would like to see in American women these days, but Americans are to damn busy worrying about the all mighty buck She didnt like it but she wanted a better life so shut the hell up if you havent got a clue people like that that wanna pop off their opinion without knowing facts really irritate the crap outta me.

Yes, they still have mail order brides, and they dont really "buy" there wives, but pay the fee......more than likely there like Moe from the Simpsons...you know, guys like him...

Many men are the type women here don't find attractive.
Many ladies oversees cannot speak very good English, is innocent, naive, & submissive. She will do anything for him to bring her to America.
