My sister was born in 2000, and I'm trying to tell her that every time the year changes, it's the same # as her age! (Ex: it's 2006, and she's 6) How do I explain it to her better?

your were born in the year 2000 - every year we add a year to the year that has past - so in 2001 you were 1 year old, 2002 you were 2 years old -- and, for every year that passes into a new year that will be your age -- right now it's 2006 and that makes you 6 years old - so, how old will you be in 2007? i hope she gets it. good luck :)
