People make fun of my height 6ft 8" & 320 lbs. but if I make fun of short people they take offense.?

I'm five foot two inches, and 40 years old cry me a ******* river you big oaf, we all have our problems. Christ your 6'8" smash the pricks. I have accomplished everything i have ever set my mind to. I've done boot camp 2 times in my life. I'm having a blast despite the constant humiliation and stupid remarks made to me on a minute to minute bases. Feeble minded jack asses are a normal size because they are to weak to be special like you and I. Screw em, smash em, and bang their scrawny heads into the wall.

I'm 6'6" and 235 and get asked all the time if I play basketball or was a pro football player. "How's the air up there" hmmmm "I don't know, let me fart and you can tell me how the air is down there" Personally, I get tired of the comments, even though I'll bet most of the time it comes from some kind of hidden envy on the part of the commentator. I'm betting smaller people feel the same way. Being on either end of the "normal" scale doesn't make someone a mutant, it means the definition of normal is wrong.

I'm short (5 feet) and if a very tall person makes a joke it doesn't bother me, but if a more average sized person makes a joke it will bother me. Tall people get the same kind of scrutiny I guess so it feels more like having something in common. With average people, it feels more like getting picked on.

I definitely have an older brother who beat the sh*t out of me daily.. basically for laughs .. he'd stand me up as a newborn beside the living house and throw a NFL regulation length soccer promptly at my head.. and to think of my mum and dad have been blamed all those years for dropping me on my face to plenty.. come to confirm i exchange into plagued by being compelled to consume pigskin to the grille sixty 5 or 70 circumstances daily..

Because in American culture, being tall is considered better than being short. So when people "make fun" of your height, they are doing so in a way that expresses their desire to have the desirable quality (of height) that you have. There's no need to be offended because they are pointing out the quality that is considered good. When you make fun of people being short, you're pointing out a quality that's considered negative. That's why they consider it rude.

You are a kind-hearted self-assured person. Some who are short are a bit self-conscious, being called little or shorty or whatever.

A friend once told me of a story... I dont' know if it's true, but it was fun. This person was in a bar, drunk, when a man of your stature was near him at the bar. The short one looks up and says "How's the weather up there?"

The tall man ponders for a moment, takes a mouth full of beer, and sprays it all over the shorter one and proclaims "Raining like hell."

I've always enjoyed that story.

because short people are more concicered a GROUP or a community of people. Sadly people your height dont exist in numbers large enough to be concidered a group, or a "people" and therefore, when you "make fun" of short people, youre insulting an entire group. Such as when you make fun of a black person, you are in effect making fun of the entire black race. Or at least, thats their, personal, perception. Its a SAD double standard, I know.

It happens to me at work. I would never comment on how old some of them are, yet they think it's ok to remark on how young I am. I wish people realized it hurts both ways!
