"About 70% of the fat free mass of the human body is made of water. To function properly, the body requires between one and seven litres of water per day to avoid dehydration; the precise amount depends on the level of activity, temperature, humidity, and other factors."

Most of the human body is made up of water, H2O, with cells consisting of 65-90% water by weight. Therefore, it isn't surprising that most of a human body's mass is oxygen. Carbon, the basic unit for organic molecules, comes in second. 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of just six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus.
Oxygen (65%)
Carbon (18%)
Hydrogen (10%)
Nitrogen (3%)
Calcium (1.5%)
Phosphorus (1.0%)
Potassium (0.35%)
Sulfur (0.25%)
Sodium (0.15%)
Magnesium (0.05%)
Copper, Zinc, Selenium, Molybdenum, Fluorine, Chlorine, Iodine, Manganese, Cobalt, Iron (0.70%)
Lithium, Strontium, Aluminum, Silicon, Lead, Vanadium, Arsenic, Bromine (trace amounts)

The average human body is composed of 66% water.
Of that 66%, 80% is intracellular and 20% is extracellular.
Here is a human elemental composition by mass from greatest to least:
Oxygen - 61%
Carbon - 23%
Hydrogen - 9.9%
Calcium - 2.5%
Nitrogen - 1.4%
Phosphorus - 1.1%
Potassium - 0.2%
Sulfur - 0.2%
Sodium - 0.14%
Chlorine - 0.13%
Magnesium - 0.027%
Iron - 0.0060%
Flourine - 0.0037%
Zinc - 0.0037%
Silicon - 0.0014%
And all the rest = 0.022%

Different people have different percentages of their bodies made up of water.
Babies have the most, being born at about 78%. By one year of age, that amount drops to about 65%. In adult men, about 60% of their bodies are water. However, fat tissue does not have as much water as lean tissue.
In adult women, fat makes up more of the body than men, so they have about 55% of their bodies made of water. Fat men also have less water (as a percentage) than thin men.
