I would recommend that you try to find out from another Russian about their customs. I have discovered by experience in foreign countries that gifts can be problematic sometimes! For example, if you are in Thailand, don't give anything sharp--it's bad luck. In Taiwan don't give a clock...it's like saying they might die soon. But, seriously, even the color or the type of flowers can have a meaning to them of which you are totally unaware.
Flowers, though are fairly universal in meaning around the world (once you have the kind and color right). A local gift of something enduring will give her something to remember and treasure for longer. Don't give anything that would present a problem with baggage or customs.

How about a book with interesting and pretty pictures about the town/region she is visiting? Or a sample of some local delicacy (candy/cheese/wine). Something that will help her remember her trip, in any case...

It depends on your relationship with her. Your question is strangely vague on why this person is visiting you for 85 days, did you pick her out of a catalog? Is she your mother in law? You really need to be more specific.

A giftcard to a restraunt. She gets to try american food, and maybe take her host family out to dinner, that way she doesn't have to budget for taking them out to a thank-you dinner, and can spend the money she brought on stuff to take home.

In Rotary, we always give exchange students something from our local area which exemplifies what we are about. It doesn't have to be big, just personal.
