i took my car to get aligned and thet told me that they could not align it because one wheel was bent back from an accident. i had taken it to a shop and they told me that the crossmember, lower control arm, knuckle, and strut needed replacing. at the alignment place they told be to take it to a body shop and have it pulled forward. would this be the same to replacing parts that the shop said to replace

You've had two "auto doctors" indicate major repairs for an alignment. Take your car to a large type body shop as they have frame machines and wheel alignment machines to make the needed repairs and corrections. If the frame needs to be pulled, this will have to be done first in order to to see what else will need to be straighten or replaced for the alignment. An estimate will be given before the repairs are started.

The alignment shop was wrong. Pulling forward would significantly weaken the metal; resulting in cracks and/or tears. Also, getting all of that to bend back to its original position would be nearly impossible. Time to replace, however, except for the strut, most of these parts should be available from a junkyard at reasonable prices.

The main structural parts on the car can be pulled to help in the alingment-BUT- struts, steering knuckles, control arms and some crossmembers should not be done. you will probably have to take it to the body shop to get it all done(a good one will do the complete job)
