Soooooo many things you can do in a crock. I love the crock. Something that you can leave for several hours without basting or overcooking. How about a roast (beef or pork) or chicken even, season your meat, (a easy seasoning is to use an envelope of vegetable or onion soup mix) throw some veggies in with, whatever you choose potatoes, carrots, onion, mushroom, (sprinkle a little seasoning over your veggies) about 2 cups of water. The water will steam it and make juices. Remember the longer it cooks the more tender. If you put it on a low setting all day(6-8 hours)by the time you get home it will be tender as can be. You can make a gravy from the juices.

They also have these wonderful meals that come in a box or a bag made for your crock. Sometimes you just have to add your meat sometimes it comes with. I've used the Chicken and Dumplings and the Beef Stew.

You can get it all ready the night before and keep your crock in the frig then just plug it in before you leave.

Put a chuck roast in there with some Lipton onion soup mix of your choice. Add some water 1 to 2 cups and cover it and let it go. Don't leave it on high setting more than 6hrs though thats usually a good time to cut it back to low for an hour or 2. The meat will fall apart. You can add veggies last hour or so. And your meal has cooked itself.

I haven't had a slow cooker in a few years. But I'm looking at getting another soon. I used to make a BBQ pulled beef/pork with it. But i went and looked through the net and this receipt sounded good. I'm not sure what size your slow cooker is. Or your preference in foods. This web site had others that maybe would fit your idea's better.

There are tons of easy and great crock pot recipes!! I'd be lost without mine. One of our favs is a chix strogenoff. You need about a ound of chix, I use pick of the chick, a family size can of cream of mushroom soup, ine med size tub of sour cream. I salt and pepper the chix and add a can of sliced mushrooms and a tablespoon of minced garlic. Put the chix in first and the rest of the ingredients, but I wait till about an hour before I sereve to put in the s.c., I always think it will curddle if I put it in to early. Then I make a 6 person serving of white rice, this can be made the night before, and put that in when I put the s.c. in. Should cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours. I top with cheddar cheese and chilli powder when I serve. Yummy. also check out Kraftfoods.com they have tons of recipes and a great mag. you can get for free!! Good luck!!

Do you like roast beef? You can put a roast on and leave it for 8-10 hours on slow cook and 4-5 hours on high.

You can also go to Kroger's and get these Crock Pot meals in a bag int he frozen food section.....they are about $6-7.00.

crock pot steak ...
onion
bell pepper
round steak
stewed tomatoes
mushrooms (optional)
rice

take 1 small onion, slice, place in the bottom of crock pot. slice a medium bell pepper, layer on top of onion. (it's best to marinate your round steak overnight .. I use worstershire and a little soy sauce) place round steak on top of veggies. pour a can of stewed tomatoes over the top of all (you can also add either fresh or canned mushrooms). cook on low 6-8 hrs. serve over rice .. enjoy!
