I love onions. I like them sauteed but I like them raw too. I get extra onions on every thing. Is this weird? Does anyone else like onions like this?

I don't think it's odd at all and research says it's even good for you. "Research has shown onions to have strong anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic actions, which could be why they are the starting point of choice for the cuisine of so many cultures around the world.

Onion soup is made by many personally I like the Heallty Request and if you want a good one order the cup at Friday's resturant and it is easy to make too:
Classic French onion Soup
1 stick butter (8 Tablespoons)
8 cups onions, thinly sliced
3 Tablespoons flour
3 quarts beef stock
1 Tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 cup brandy
1 teaspoon BV meat glaze (or kitchen bouquet, bovril, or oxo, in a pinch)--optional
grated Gruyere cheese
grated Parmesan cheese
French bread
olive oil
Melt the butter in a Dutch oven and add the onions, stirring constantly. cook for 5-7 minutes, until soft.
In the meantime, cut slices of French bread into 1/2 inch pieces and toast them at 350 degrees in the oven for about 15 minutes--until they are dry crusts.

When the onions are soft, sprinkle them with flour, stir, then add 2 cups of beef stock and stir until the mixture is thickened. Add the remaining stock, stir into 1 Tablespoon of salt, the pepper, and the brandy. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 1/2 hour to an hour. Add the meat glaze and taste for seasoning.

When you're ready to serve, ladle the soup into individual bowls and cover each with a thick handful of Gruyere cheese. Top each with a piece of the toasted bread, which has been drizzled with olive oil. Sprinkle it with the Parmesan, then run them under a broiler for a few minutes and carry out to the table.

I'm glad someone put an onion soup recipe on here It looks like a good one.
Campbell's makes a fair onion soup, but nothing like homemade. Try it, you'll love it.

I don't think it's wierd at all. They have lots of health benefits too. French onion soup is awesome but I don't suggest you try canned soup, go for the good stuff, that's what this site is all about. Ask for some recipes you'll get a ton and they're worth having trust me.

No it's not weird. I like onions but not like you do. It is just what you like. There's nothing wrong with it. Some people love garlic or peppers, spicy food. As long as you keep your breath fresh & don't breathe on anyone after you eat the onions, no problem.

Try French Onion Soup
I haven't bought it canned, but they sell packets that you just add water to, I think.
I like the flavor of onions but for some reason my tummy doesn't like them very much and I'm stuck with the oniony aftertaste for hours. I like red onions on burgers but I prefer garlic on a lot of my food.

I love 'em too. I order 'em with just about everything. Ever put them in your scrambled eggs. I like eggs with sauteed onions and mushrooms or eggs, onions, and kielbasa. Fried onions and potatoes are a famous snack in our house. Throw it all in some hot oil or deep fryer---like potato chips with fried onions.
