Think about it USC has put itself in a position to get back to a national title game. USC might not be the best one loss team but they did everything in their power to prove themselves and they positioned themselves brilliantly. Out of conference against not one good team but against 3 top 25 teams and 2 top 10 teams.

Take Wisconsin who played absolutely no one out of conference and give them Arkansas, Nebraska and ND. If Wisconsin wins those three games they are in a great position to be in title game even with a loss. It is the same for most other teams.

You have teams that schedule the weakest out of conference schedule they can find and then cry and moan about not getting invited to the big dance. Why? Why don't they smarten up? Are they afraid they will lose if they do that? But look what USC has done by scheduling themselves a tough out of conference now they droped a game to lowly Oregon St but still can make the big game.

Other programs should wise up

Yes it is true that you can't always tell how good a team will be but come on Nebraska and Notre Dame you know they are good most years. Arkansas usually good. In 2008 USC plays Ohio State will they be good?

The pac 10 has as good a BCS record as the other conferences.

The SEC is overrated. Why don't they field a team that could beat USC and then we can talk.

Right scheduling a 1AA teams is the same as scheduling Nebraska great logic there. Say whatever you like but if USC wins out and Florida wins out USC goes to title game end of discussion.

OK the game against ND is an annual thing so can't really mention that one with it. Now you say about the others. Well guess what it depends on the other team did the prior year. Then you say how did they do THIS year. I don't remember Nebraska being a top 25 team last year. I don't really remember the rankings last year though as I am a Pitt fan and try to forget last year. Not really trying to remember this year either although things started out so well. Seriously though you could pick the worst team the prior year catch tehm in a strong year and it makes you look good. That isn't right. You should get credited as scheduling a WEAK team that is having a good year instead of bragging about having a good team scheduled.

possibly USC is afraid to time table SEC communities and not any incorrect way around. Then they'd ought to surely ought to play hard communities. i'm now not asserting that USC isn't a reliable team, yet enjoying Virginia and OSU and having 2 bye weeks is not often remarkable for this reason far. And the percent10 seems to be a susceptible convention this 12 months so getting via unbeaten should not be stressful.

It's not a smart schedule. It's the schedule they pretty much have every year. What's smart scheduling, is the SEC teams scheduling 7 home games a year while having a super easy non-league schedule. The SEC is very overrated this year but they still stay high in the polls because of the rep the league has.

The schedules are made mostly 3-5 years ahead of time so they had no clue as to things working out for them. Your reaching big time.

It helps that the Pac-10 is so weak. If the other teams in the Pac-10 got better, I think you would see USC scheduling more cupcakes.
