Not words! Just chatty noises.

Make him/her beg for a treat and he/she will make a noise.

Do this a lot and say a word when you do it.

After a few weeks try saying the word and seeing if the kitty responds.

Let me know if it works for you.

Hi there...to help teach your kitty to "speak" or chatter find a toy that overly excite him/her and place it in a location where he/she cannot have access to it. Laser lights work well. As soon as kitty chatters reward him/her with the toy or food treats.

Here's a video of cat chattering at a fly he cannot reach. A laser light produces the same effect: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fXz7RoSNODY

My cats alway "talk" back when I talk to them. It takes a little while, but they eventually start talking. You really can't make a cat do anything on command. They are independant and don't like to be bossed. Good luck.

My goodness, I'd be afraid of kitty talking when you don't want it to... like at 3am.

Someone NEEDS to check his doseage. By the way; does your cat slip LSD into your coffee?

I have one cat of my six who has "chirpy" little conversations with me regularly. He usually initiates them. I didn't "train" him to do this and my other cats don't.
