For starters, it's Christmas rather than xmas. And if the decorations are anything other than a manger scene, bright star or cross, don't bother putting it up at all. I am fully against celebrating and/or decorating the holiday unless it has to do with the birth of Christ. Anything else is just commercial propaganda.
Put it up December first and take it down January first.

It is a personal decision I think. I usually wait till the first weekend in December. When I was a little kid we never put our tree up until Christmas Eve and always took it down on New Year's Day. I like my decorations too much to hide them away for most of the year and like to get at least a month's enjoyment out of them. Some I keep up for the winter (snowmen for example.)

Whenever you want, I guess, it's very individual. I have a friend who puts up the Christams decorations now; the whole outside of her house is so brightly lit that people come from miles around with small kids to show them the lights! For me, it's a week before Christmas. That's time enough I think. It depends on the family, the traditions in that family, and the pressure from small kids!!

I would say that the day after Thanksgiving would be the best time.
I am having problems with all the Christmas decorations in the stores so so early.
But I do admit to putting up a wreath yesterday because I came across it in the closet.

First off it is Christmas, there is no x in the word at all. Second that is totally up to you. Most people do it right after Thanksgiving, we normally get our tree and put it up on Thanksgiving day and then after we eat we decorate.

Whenever you want, seems a shame to spend so much money on Xmas decorations and only use them for a month - it's your house anyway.

Whenever you want! I would say anytime after Halloween although I know a lot of people don't like to. I love Christmas so I will be decorating as soon as I have time!

I put mine up around a month to 3 weeks before Christmas. I usually take them down the 3rd week of January as the recycling in my city only collects trees up until that time.
