Do they wipe, zip up and go or do they just get left behind until the next emergency call they get and go? I'm sure new recruits ask these questions, but I'm neither so I was just curious.

lets put it this way... if a firefighter hears a call, they aren't gonna miss it unless they have to.. going to the bathroom is not an exception. they will most definitely not get left behind... and new recruits dont ask that cause they are so excited to hear the tones that they are running for the trucks no matter what they were doing at that time... its all you can do to keep them calm until you need that energy!!!

Let's put it this way. No one ever gets left behind.
Not more than once anyway.

Same for taking a shower. And you haven't lived until you are rolling down the road at -3 degrees after jumping out of a shower.

Stop what they are doing and go. You can always shower later and its not unusual to have a problem in your shorts while your on the job. It happens to everyone.
