Alcohol if more toxic, addictive and destructive. Have you ever heard of marijuana poisoning, marijuanaism, marijuana abuse, and Fetal Marijuana Syndrome in children? I've also never heard or seen someone crash from driving high. I have seen people crash and die from being drunk, have alcohol poisoning leading to ER trips, death from alcohol abuse (poisoning). AA is specifically made for alcholics. Marijuana takes the edge off all the people I've seen take it and makes them less aggressive. I've never seen a violent person from marijuana, but have seen people arrested from violence due to alcohol as well as seen family and friends turn blue from the alcohol.

Europe manages this well in respects to alcohol. They teach their kids to drink very early and teach them to moderate their consumption thus it becomes less of a problem when the children grow up and arent so concerned about getting trashed. We need to take the novelty away from the children at an early age so it becomes less exciting in their teen age years. Marijuana is less of an issue than is smoking and drinking. Marijuana should be legalized and sold by the govt to reduce drug trafficking concerns. Thus the govt makes money and wins the war on drugs (in terms of Mary-J) all at once.

Alchohol. Society does have a way to inform and stop people from using this substance. There are educational classes where the risks and dangers of using and abusing this substance, that is sometimes defined as a narcotic, are discussed. These classes include but or not limited to: health, biology, psychology, and allied health classes. This substance is already legal and our country has tried to make it illegal, but the decision was too hard to enforce (the 18th and later 21st amendment).
