Asking for help is a sign of strength. It takes a strong, open-minded person to realize he/she may need help and to be interested enough to seek it. "Bad" parents probably don't think they need help, or else might not accept it even if it were offered.
Parenting is a tough job and it's even tougher to do a good job of it. It takes work and effort. Lazy parents aren't doing their job properly.
I agree w/you. Teachers don't have a claim on good parenting. I know, because I work at a school and run into kids whose parents are teachers. Teachers can be as clueless at parenting as anybody else, maybe even moreso because they can be in total denial of their kids' bad behavior.

I think that it makes you a better parent when you ask for help when you need it, instead of just getting frustrated and taking it out on the kids. I get judgements all the time for being young. Where I live, most women start having kids in their 30's. I'm 22, and somewhat attractive. I actually had a woman tell me that I care more about the way I look than my son, because I am always put together. People are going to judge you for anything they can. It doesn't matter what you do. Just know that you are a good mom BECAUSE you ask for help and advice, instead of just thinking you know everything in the world.

Nobody knows it all when it comes to raising kids, how can they when each child is so individual and what works for one won't work for another.Everyone has to find the way that works best for them and the more advice and input you can get from others the better informed you will be to make a sound decision. So if i were you i would take no ntice of certain peoples comments, like you say if you were a bad parent you wouldn't care, you wouldn't be asking for advice.

Firstly, good on you for taking an interest and wanting to solve any issues that are cropping up with your children. You are showing you care and thats a great thing! Secondly, where would we all be without a little help every now and again. Its healthy to ask for help when its needed so ask away. Thirdly, the lady that harasses you is in here too, obviously seeking answers so tell her to shut the f$%k up and go away if she doesnt have anything positive to add to your Yahoo Answers experience. Good Luck and stand up for yourself with this bully. Good Luck with the answers you are searching for and enjoy :-)

Knowledge of any kind improves the mind and the way we deal with life. Anyone that judges you because you ask a question has a problem. In the bible it says judge not lest ye be judged. It also says my people perish because of a lack of knowledge and ask and ye shall receive . so, anyone that needs help and asks for it is doing right. Anyone judging another person who is causeing no harm is just a big fat know it all who is probably just bored and has no friends to talk to. So, you ask all you want and pwople who have solutions will give you advice. you're fine girl.

Asking for help and trying to learn are signs of a good parent with an open mind. A closed minded person is usually not as good a parent or anything else.

Don't pay attention to them. I had a woman on here harrass me and tell me I was a bad parent b/c I decided to pierce my daughter's ears when she was 4 months old. She went on and on and on. I isn't right. You just have to brush it off your shoulder b/c those critical people aren't there when you are running ragged taking care of your kids. They don't see everything you do for them. They couldn't possibly understand what you or anyone else goes through for their kids. And if you have questions, ASK! You are not a bad parent, you are educating yourself. And THAT, my friend, is the American way.

I find that answering questions is fun and informative. I also find it counterproductive to be judgemental and cruel to people asking parenting questions. Unfortunately, not all parents are fair and non-judgemental and they feel that uninformed parents are ignorant and unworthy. But, that is the reason you come here! So, I would recommend ignoring this person and listen to the good stuff (most ppl are positive and nice). I learn stuff here everyday and so should you!

I don't think it makes you a bad parent to ask questions. It's nice to have someone Else's input. No one can be a perfect parent if they think they are they are trying to fool their selves.
