Display the word Hello World on your monitor

It is a tradition that anytime you teach a new computer language, the first thing you do is show the students how to disply "Hello World" on their monitor. No point to it really, just tradition.

(SIng it with me "Tradition...Tradition!!)

As was already mentioned, perhaps PHP is not configured on the server. As a test upload a file containing the code below, when you access the page in a browser you will know if PHP is configured by the output returned by the server.
