I moved back to school in August, and I have three new roomates and I find myself getting mad! I have kept my mouth shut for so long other than talking to the RA, but nothing has really been done. They get into my dishes, of which I have very few of and get into my food which I buy with what little budget I have. It's been pissing me off for a long time. I am not one for confontration but I have almost stepped out in front of them and wanted to cuss them out. I am normally a nice person, but when they start accussing me of using their dishes or getting into their food, I realize that is the biggest bunch of bull! What should I do without flying off the handle and hurting their feelings? I've tried to be civil with them but I don't know what to do. Only a few weeks left. Open to ideas . .

Start by confronting them. Tell them your budget limitations, what's bothering you, and why you feel the way you do. Maybe they did this with other roomies and don't realize that it bothers you so much?

Now that we've given them the benefit of the doubt, I'm guessing they DO know what they're doing, and could care less - maybe that attitude's been with them from younger days, as I know millions of asses with the same thinking.

Try keeping food that won't spoil, (can goods, cookies, etc.) in plastic bins under your bed or some other place your roomie shouldn't be or have access to. If it comes to it, buy a big footlocker or Rubbermaid bin to keep at the end of your bed to keep it all in, (Wal-mart usually carries them) and keep the key for the lock with you at all times, and hide the other some place they'd never look, or give it to a close friend.

As soon as you eat, wash and dry your dishes and put them in the box. As crappy as it is to have to go to this extreme, it will be better for you in the end if it upsets you so much that they have access to your stuff without your permission and act like they don't care.

Best of luck!!

you mustn't would desire to handle this. it somewhat is no longer user-friendly to you, or to her. If I have been you, i might tell her immediately the variety you sense, and state the way it somewhat is. Use info, and request extra the help of her. She desires to work out how annoyed you're. in case you have been protecting it interior all this time, then perchance this is why she's been the way she is with the help of the fact she does not comprehend **** and he or she does not see the way it somewhat is affecting you. in case you do no longer see any progression, then enable her comprehend issues are not understanding and which you will seem into different residing preparations. As a final motel, and this would seem immature, yet do no longer sparkling and don't p.c.. UP something for each week or perhaps 2. Then perchance she'll see that in case you do no longer do it, it won't get completed, and it falls returned on her. stable success!

I agree with "The Older woman". You have to tell them that you can't afford to feed them, and you don't want them to use your dishes, above all if they don't clean straight after they use them. I had the same problem with my flatmate, but after a while, he got it and stopped using my stuff.

If they don't want to do it, like she said, just keep everything locked.

Hope you get better flatmates next time.

You need to talk to them. Maybe get a neutral party to facilitate like your TA. More than likely, you will be with them next semester, so letting the anger build up is not good. You'll just explode.
