Wah-la is a mispronunciation of the French word "voila" (should be an accent on that) .... which means "There it is."

So, voila! There it is, or there you have it!

Is viola a French word maybe? Wah-la is probably the English (American) version. Who is scrutinizing things like that. It is up to the speaker. Free choice.

It's just sorta a slang word. Just like you all and ya'll. Maybe its funner to say wah-la

The French "v" isn't as hard as the one we use in English, so the actual pronunciation of the word falls somewhere in between.

I guess because they don't know it's "voila." I've even seen it spelled "wallah."
