Can you use famished? After a long day at work I was famished. The Republicans found the Democrats to be formidable opponents in this election. Driving car pool every day is such a mundane task. Hope it helps

Many people were allowed to famish(to starve to death) in the prisoner of war camp.The seven foot giant was a formidable(feared because of superior strength,size,difficulty etc.) enemy for the little boy.The mundane(belonging to this world) things like making money and having a job did not matter to her. I am including the definitions in parentheses for your convenience.
