Here's something I wonder about "The Flash" and like characters.

Not even getting into the time travel theory aspects, if a person could run as fast as the aformentioned character, would he have to be virtually invulnerable to survive the external forces on his body?

All the speedsters used to be protected by an anti friction force field that was part of their connection to the Speed Force, in the DC maxi series Armageddon 2000 this was addressed as Wally West had a possible future revealed in which he had a son born with superspeed but not the protective aura that he himself possessed.
