Respectfully speaking, I believe this dog should go to a vet. However, it is very possible that she HAS been to a vet, and at this moment is in a particularly large amount of pain. In that case, it would seem appropriate to call the vet, and ask what can be done for her. Many vets who know your dog will tell you over the phone what you can give. A half tablet of buffered aspirin will not hurt her that much, and can give her a few less painful hours before the vet is reached. Financially, immediate veterinary attention is difficult, and home treatment can be best for the dog to get some relief.

You need to bring her into a vet. I don't care if the closest emergency vet is 5 hours away. You are responsible for her.
For everyone who said "YES" to this question, shame on you. You don't know what is wrong with this dog, the breed of the dog, the size of the dog, her allergies, or the competence of this owner. If this owner is too lazy to bring her dog who is in "A Lot Of Pain" to the vet, what makes you think she can handle giving her dog the correct dosage of pepto? What happens if she decides to sub a medicine that's poisonous to the dog?
Your dog needs to go to a vet. Before you leave, call them and ask them what you can give her for her severe pain.

Please don't give your dog any human pain medications. Some vets recommend aspirin, (buffered), but you still need to know how much to give and how often. If she is having any type of bleeding, internal or external, aspirin will make the bleeding worse.
The best approach is to call a vet and talk to them about what is happening with your dog. A vet is the only way to treat your dog in this situation.

In pain from what? BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only over the counter human pain medication a dog can have is Buffered Aspirin. (Bufferin). Anything else can be lethally toxic to their system. Call your vet for the correct dosage.

You need to contact a vet asap because you can only guess at the human dosage and you do not know how it will react with your pet. Only a vet can make that call so make that call and get the furry baby to a vet!

I've given my dog aspirin before, with no apparent ill effects. You should be careful with anything else, because things that are non-toxic to humans can be lethal to dogs and cats.
If your dog is in a LOT of pain, aspirin won't help much. There are all-night emergency vets in many towns. You should try to find one.

You can give your dog buffered aspirin on a limited basis but it could bother her stomach. There is a pet medicine for skeletal and muscular pain called Rimadyl (sp?) that is not that expensive.
If the pain is abdominal, I wouldn't give her anything until you check with a vet.

No! Dogs cannot take some of the same drugs that we take. You should let your vet know whats going on so he can give you something for it that would be appropriate.
