does it really matter if he is gay? you should accept him as he is and his sexual preference really isn't any ones business but his, one way you may tell is if he comes on to other guys, and yes hand gestures are 1 sign, but lots of people do make gestures with their hands while talking. look at all the people who gay bash when they know, do you want that for him if he is? and there's been murders of gays because of the controversy and unacceptance of someone different.

I know a lot of non-gay people that say that too. I think it just an expression when you don't want to talk about it in a rational way

It's not because he is gay (I used to do that when I was younger) but yea sounds like he is really piss3d off at you or someone else...just ignore it and walk away
