HORMONES! Tell your doc. so he can try another type of pill that may work better for you. I don't think you are crazy. You probably cant handle that level of hormones present in that particular pill. Good luck!

yes, i know exactly what you are dealing with...go off your pills now and call your doctor right away. you are clearly having a bad reaction to this pill. this kind of problem does not go away. you need to try a different pill. likely the hormone level in your body have been thrown off. this pill is either too high or possible even (in my case) too low. with young women doctors like to put them on very low levels of hormones but this does not work for everyone. make sure when you talk to your doctor that they listen and understand all the problems you are having (tell them all the mood changes, emotional issues, and any physical problems as well). good luck hope you find a better pill that works with your body.

I understand completely. I went nuts because the pills have so many hormones in them. My GYN explained to me that pills have more hormones in them than options like the patch and NuvaRing because they break down in the liver first and then get absorbed in the blood. I was just on a hormone overload and my entire body couldn't handle it. Options like the patch and NuvaRing (the later being my BC of choice) have less hormones in them because they are absorbed directly into the bloodstream. If you're sexually active I wouldn't go off your pills, but I'd get an appointment ASAP to get your prescription changed to a lower dose pill, patch or the ring.
Until you get that changed, try explaining to your boyfriend that it really is the hormones, and to bear with you while you try to get it fixed. I know I drove my roommate crazy when I was going through that, it sucks to drag someone else into your uncontrolled mood swings. I'm so sorry you're feeling like this, I'd never wish it on anyone.

It sounds like they could be the problem. Try using some other form of birth control while taking a "vacation" from your birth control pills for a month and see what happens. Best of luck!

Oh yes! I wouldn't touch an Ortho again to save my life!
I not only was up and flying high one minute, and trying to drive into a bridge the next, but I ended up with a serious chemical imbalance.
Don't give up though! Yasmin has worked fabulous for me, and it keeps my moods even enough that I don't have PMS.

One of my friends was like that and can't take the birth control pill. I guess it must cause a hormonal imbalance in some people and makes them a little nuts.

It's very possible. Birth control effects hormones, and we all know what those wonderful hormones can do to us ;)
