You don't have to take the green pills. They do nothing. Period can start anytime during that week but usually by the third day.

when i was on ortho tri cyclene i always started on the wednesday reminder pill so yeah it can take a few days and if you read the insert of your prescription it is also normal to once in awhile skip a period so i wouldnt worry alongs if you have been taking a pill everyday around the same time you should be fine

Not right away. I am on Ortho-tricyclen-lo, start my green pills on Sunday and my period begins on wednesday. Breakthough (which is what the period on the pill is) varies from woman to woman but it's usually not the next day.
