while flossing I notice on my last back teeth on the bottom, around 6 smalls lines on each tooth on either side

Yes it is possible.
If the orthodontic work is in the way, the orthodontist can remove the bracket/wire/band so the dentist can restore the cavity. The orthodontist usually replaces the bracket/wire/band the same day.

Not sure, you should check with your dentist. I do know that my dentist (and possibly all dentists) does not take x-rays when you have braces. Good luck!
