you may need an operation on both at seperate times. It sounds like your ligaments are weak through age or wear and tear etc.

You could try going swimming and jogging on the spot waist high in water at your local pool. You can also try other very light leg exercises to strengthen in and around the knees.

If none of that works then see a physiotherapist.

You need to see a doctor, because this could be very serious. My sister used to do that, found she had traverse myelitis, and eventually it paralyzed her. Not meaning to frighten you, but to let you know, not to take this lightly.
