Has anyone heard of baby madness? If so have you got any information you can give me or any website addresses to visit.
My sister through pregnancy and for (to date) a year and half afterwards appears to think the world revolves around her and her baby. I have heard of this term in passing and would like to find out more. To see if this could be in any way linked to my sister. Just trying to help her out. I am truly concerned.

can i just say, I'm a mum and my daughter is now 6 months old, and she is my world along with my husband and after having 5 miscarriages i feel I'm allowed to be proud of having her here and i want everyone to know I'm finally a mummy cuz its such a wonderful experience.
Yes i take time out for myself and have a nice hot pampering bath session once Courtney is in bed.
Maybe your sister feels the baby is the only thing to her at the moment, how well do you get on with her, if you are always telling her there is something wrong with her then maybe she is using the baby in compensation as the babe wont tell her she is unwell etc.

I've heard of the phenomena but I haven't heard of any hard research. It seems like the same thing teenage mothers go through that has them getting pregnant multiple times just for the attention. However it may not be any different than anyone else.
There's just something in our society that values babies and pregnancy to the extreme.

its not a true medical term.......just a way to say that mom is putting too much time and effort into being mommy and ignoring other things to make her a whole woman.....she needs to relax and take some time for herself. I am not saying that the baby isnt important but she needs to concentrate on something that isnt baby related....when you become a mom your world revolves around the baby sometimes moms dont focus on things that are of equal importance such as marriage and family relationships....

That is normal. When a mother haves a baby her hormones go raging and it makes her act differently than normal. Don't worry.
