Well. the cat has control & can land it's feet. the cat weighs more & will fall at a greater rate, overtaking the toast. it will land before the toast. It will move out of the way, just in time for the toast to land butter side down.

The toast will slid off and fall on the floor butter side down and the kitty will then be able to have his breakfast. :O)
