I have taken Ortho Evra and i was sick when i cycled and not only that i had a pain whenever the patch was. I went to the doctors and they suggested my not to use it anymore. They did have a recall on it a while back, you should ask your doctor if there is anything eles, unless your not too worried. GOOD LUCK!

I think you should be concerned with the side effects and warnings of all hormonal birth control. I've worked in the sexual health field for 6 years, and I've seen some women experience lots of things because of them. A few even died from clots from the patch. Just be careful and monitor any changes your experience... gain/loss of weight, thinning hair, no sex drive, mild stroke symptoms... etc... I think a condom is a great choice, especially a female condom. But some of these only effect certain women. Sorry I couldn't give better advice, just wanted to be honest.

I think they are overdone, out of all the birth control methods I have used this is the best one. I have had no rise in my blood presure, no bad side effects in fact I feel more normal than I have in a few years.
of coarse I am only 28 and I don't smoke so I am sure that lowers my chance of having the bad side efffects

I think it's way overdone!! They never had a recall on the patch either. I was on the patch for 3 years and I loved it.
