Your breath.

I think it's just all the new smells that invite a dog to stick their head out a window. Think of it as "people hate to step in puddles on the street but love to take showers." People's breath could also be pretty disgusting, especially to a dog's sensitive nose.

I blow in my dog's face all the time and she hates it, but I think when they stick their heads out the car window they get a fresh breeze of freedom instead of your bad breath from that left over chicken enchilada you had for lunch.

Put yourself in a dogs shoes. When other dogs get together, none of them breath on another dogs face. If you walk up to a dog and start sniffing it's face, it won't feel so bad. That's how they communicate.

AND since, smell is thier best working sense, by blowing at thier face, you limit thier smells by only allowing the smells that come from your mouth. What do you do when someone puts thier hands infront of your eyes? You move your head, and you feel compromised.

Not all dogs hate having their face blown in. My dog loves it (he thinks it is an invitation to lick my face).

You should never let your dog hang its head out the window. Flying debris and insects can damage your dog's eyes. Dogs should be safely restrained at all times in a vehicle *steps down off her soapbox*

Our breath and air outdoors are diverse. we've a heat thick sense to our breath. The wind has a skinny chilly physique of recommendations and dogs will want the chilly physique of recommendations to the thick heat one maximum in all risk.
