Tough guy wants a tough dog, huh? Just kidding. I'd say it's the Presa Canario not the Pitbull like everyone thinks. The power lies in their lockjaw. I would never get either of these breeds. Get a Doberman or a Sheperd. They are much more beautiful. Much smarter. They can also fulfill your "tough guy" image.

For overall pulling / biting power you look at the working class breeds such as bull dog breeds, german shepards, Saint Bernards , Newfoundlands, Bermese Mountain dog, Mastiff breeds, dobermans, rottweilers, boxers. But speed you have to look at the hound groups

I would say the Alaskan Malemute. They are all brawn and muscle, not to mention the workhorse of the North. They can pull thousands of pounds for amazing distances over some of the most merciless terrains on earth.
