I take it, it is probably a 4.3, They are very common for the valve seals leaking. Looking at about 2 hours, valve seals, and valve cover gaskets, to take care of the problem. should be less than $200.00........

If your blazer has a 2.8 v6 i my have a quick fix. I was told that the 2.8 has too small oil returns in the heads and i was using a too heavy oil. To fix i removed the valve covers cleaned the oil gummed up on top of heads, run a good motor flush, changed the oil which i went to a synthetic and lighter weight 5w30 and mine never smoked again!

try a product called engine restore. it comes in 4 cyl,6 &8 cyl and i think its the best product on the market to help the problem. add it with each oil change. about $8 a can at wal mart or auto zone. another alternative is replacing your valve seals....other engine problems could exist.

it has startup smoke caused by bad valve seals. the only true way of fixing that is by new valve seals. a good mechanic can do it with the engine in the truck. new valve seals - cheap, new valvecover gaskets - cheap, no more smoke - priceless

Change valve seals. Get a compressor and put pressure in one cylinder at a time. Keep constant pressure in the cylinder so that they dont fall in and become a bigger problem. Then change the seals one at a time.
