too much fibre. check the food you are giving him. cheaper food has more fibre for bulk. you will find that for a more expensive food, you can give less of it, and they almost work out the same at the end of the week.

Dog Flatulence, best known as gas or fart, is something that some breeds get as they go aging. This happens when the dog's intestines start progressively losing their muscular tone. Each breed reacts differently to different foods but there are certain foods which are known to give gas to dogs such as meat that is not fresh, yesterdays leftovers, milk, lactose products, and raw vegetables. Sometimes dogs can get gas by simply eating too quickly, which in turn causes the dog to swallow too much air. A good way to avoid this from happening is by getting the dog a wide feeding bowl and crushing its food into the bowl before it eats so that the dog has to eat smaller amounts at a time

What goes in at one end will come out the other in one form or another. I would look closely at what you are feeding him. Much commercial dog food is based on grain as a filler, it adds bulk but has little nutritional value, and is indigestible. It could be that over a period of time natural bacteria has increased in his gut in an attempt to remove these unnatural products. Bacteria plus unnatural food equals farts.
Investigate a change to a more natural diet for a dog, in the mean time yogurt might help.

Some breeds are more prone to gas than others.
Diet is the most likely cause.
Any dog treat that contains any sugar can make it worse.
You may want to change dog foods as some foods are to rich for some dogs and some produce more gas with certain ingredients than others. It is just a guessing thing until you find what works for you pet.
Good luck.

The most common causes of bad flatulence in dogs include;
Eating too fast - When the dog eats too fast, swallowed air (aerophagia) makes it to the intestines very quickly and in a more concentrated quantity.
The natural processes of producing the gas through food digestion and absorption within the digestive and eliminatory tracts.
Eating foods that are known to cause flatulence (beans, cauliflower etc).
Eating a poor quality dog food.
Tips that can help diminish the severity of dog flatulence:
Instead of feeding your dog 1 or 2 portions of food per day, divide the daily ration into smaller portions and feed the dog more frequently.
Sometimes dogs eat too quickly because they fear their food will be taken away, so feed your dog in a quiet comfortable area.
Exercise the dog more frequently to stimulate its intestines.
Choose a premium brand of dog food that is highly digestible.

The reason he may be flatuating so much is to do with his diet, you must make sure that he eats the right nutritional dog food, do not feed him any green vegetables....Chicken and Rice is good it clears the system a bit...as you were not specific about your dog, what breed etc I can only say feed him dog food for awhile and not leftovers that is why a lot of dogs tend to fart...Also make sure he is given calcium and plenty of dog biscuits.

Work on the diet. Just like us, he is a mammal and has bowel things just like us. It is interesting that you walk him every 3 hours- he must poop a lot, which means that his digestive system is on a pretty fast schedule. If our systems worked so fervently, we would be tooting all the time. Humans fart 1.5 liters a day. How about that!? You may have to nick-name him pepee-le-pew ( :

Don' give your dog beans. Probably the dogs gut is full of gas forming bacteria. Try to give ya dog different food and see what causes the most wind. Omit it. If problem persist see the vet, don ' call NHS direct. They are useless.

Watch what you are feeding him. Stick to a dry dogfood and NEVER give a dog turkey to eat! Turkey does not digest properly in a dog (as I found out the hard way) and they will pass gas endlessly!

give him charcoal biscuits that will reduce the gas...a dog will pass wind like anyone else depending on what food you give him a dry mix usually is better than canned food..also lamb is a killer silent and deadly....so minimise the amount of lamb you give or take the consquences i never give lamb if i am expecting company as they will lay behind the sofa and let rip and you will get the blame lol
