Well I would say that for the family's over there that have been beaten or killed. Our US troops protecting them would be heroic! Our guys putting thier life on the line to help those who can't help them selves is Heroic.... Now to think that we are doing a good thing by invading that country and saying it was for WMD's? This has nothing to do with our men and women fighting. The bad parts of this conflict have started behind the desk of the white house... Our men and women fighting are just doing what they are told. Now there are some like those crazy idiots that raped that little girl... but you only hear the bad. There is plenty of good going on as well... We are there for the wrong reasons, and got ourselves into a bad situation and are making it worse every day... but that does NOT mean that our men and women are not hero's!

You know what is heroic? Someone putting their @ss on the line for ungrateful little sh!ts like you. Only through sweat, blood and guts can freedom be attained. One of the reasons most people don't know about Iraq war heroes and medal recievers is because the media doesn't talk about it all. There is time every day for a casualty, why not a report on the heroic actions of soldiers; what awards they got and why they got it. Here is the one M.O.H. from the Iraq war.

t was April 4, 2003. A company of Iraqi Republican Guards attacked Smith and other soldiers as they built holding areas for prisoners of war.

Smith's medal citation said he organized a two-platoon defensive wall, braved hostile fire to attack with hand grenades and anti-tank weapons and evacuated three wounded soldiers from their disabled armored personnel carrier. Still under fire, he mounted a damaged armored personnel carrier and fired its .50 caliber machine gun into the Iraqi ranks.

In helping defeat the Iraqi attack, Smith killed as many as 50 Iraqis and allowed the extraction of numerous wounded soldiers before being killed himself, the citation said.

Maybe not heroic, but its there duty and they will fight for there country.
It made me sick when I saw the video of the Iraq sniper shooting a American soldier (i think) in the back when he was talking to other Iraqis. Also the story about the soldier killed when he was giving candy to a Iraq kid.
They being heroic just trying to help out.

Thats just my opinion.

I think you might try to look at the situation form a different point of view. Try to separate the military people who are doing there duty to follow orders and the politicians who are giving the orders. Sometimes it takes real guts just to follow orders, but that's their job.I don't see how you could do anything but respect the military and wonder about the politicians.

they want to stop people like you from walking on this earth...

ask yourself this: what is so heroic about the terrorists in iraq?

bombing and sniping soldiers near innocent kids is not heroic neither is starting a civil war...
