I can't say yes to that. I wish I could, because there are some people who really deserve it, but...
Even with science nowadays, there could still be a mistake, what if someone was given the death penalty unfairly?? What if someone admits to a crime they didn't commit to protect someone else, and they die for it??
Too risky...
I think jails have become too much like hotels, though, the inmates don't suffer, they just live rent-free. Bring back the cells!!

I am for the death penalty. While the point about forcing the vilest of criminals to continue on living and suffering in prison, this also places an unfair burden on society: we must pay over $120,000 a year for each prisoner. Further, the death penalty acts as a greater deterrent to those who contemplate crimes where life is taken or destroyed.

I am an eye for an eye. You killed somebody? Your life should be taken away from you also. And DO NOT wait for 20 years on a death row. 6 months the most. I don't wanna pay for their being in the prison with food. gym and TV.

this scares me, i am so not for the death penalty, why should someone who does something so wrong get to leave this life instead of suffering on earth? ontop of that i heard that lots of people who are executed every year are found out not to be the real killers... which is another point that makes me angry if they say they didnt do it, believe them and dont kill them, even if they are found out that they have done it lock them down that will torture them more than death...

I am for it only if there is pure evidence. If someone takes a life they don't deserve to live because they took that chance of living from someone else. Unless it was for self defense that person had every right to defend them self even if it meant killing the person trying to kill them. They were scared for there lives so they had no choice. Imagine being scared for your life and you actually get murdered. Wouldn't the only fair thing to do to your murderer is put him through the same fear of getting your life taken away whether you like it or not.

I'm against death penalty. No matter what the crime is, the judges are only human and death is irreversible. So what if it proves you condemned the wrong person???

That's a toughy, many people are sitting in cells for something that they did not do...However, they should take all Child Molesters and Rapists, put them on a Space Capsule and let them Orbit the Earth...indefinitely

I think if you get a bunch of people who have been convicted (beyond a shadow of a doubt) of murder, rape etc. You should get them all in to an arena and let them fight it out to the death.
You could make it pay-per-view which would pay for the prison systems itself. If one person survives ten matches, then they get life imprisonment.

No, I believe in eye foe an eye.
Rapists get their *** cut off, murderers get murdered the same way they committed the murder, Robbers get their hand chopped off.
And all of them get a tattoo so they stand out in a crowd!
Peace
