Well, I wouldn't pick some of the people that answered this question as my choice for the smart person...
I'd pick the dude from Jeopardy that won all that money (Ken Jennings), and Jessica Simpson.
Maybe he could pound some sense into that wide open space between her ears!

Dumb: George Bush

However, the problem is that these days would be quite boring because the smart person/canine would be too classy to show-up the dummie.

Are you asking what two people we would choose? If so, I would choose George Bush (obviously the dumb person) and John Stewart (he would make fun of Bush so bad, and Bush wouldn't have a clue).

The dumb person, there are so many of them that no one would notice that the person is gone. Also, the person would not realize that they were locked in the room for most of the time.
