I already have a few dvds....Halloween, Halloween 2, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th. What are some other good movies to watch? I prefer something spooky but not horrorfying like the Exorcist. I don't want to sleep with one eye open that night.

I personally love the 80's so I normally have a marathon of old slasher movies from the 80's. If you have no way to get DVD's or VHS tapes of these than I recommend Monsterfest on AMC (Channel 20 if you have Cox Cable). It shows great slasher movies and it has become a tradition. If you would like to see the schedule you can go on amctv.com, and click schedule monsterfest starts on sunday October 22nd. If you would like a list here are my personal 80s favorites;

A Nightmare on elm street (1-5)
Halloween (2-5)
Friday the 13th (2, 3, 7, and 8)
Hellraiser (I and II)
And the best of all; Return of the Living Dead I and II.

I usualy have about 2 or 3 days where I watch the original and sequels of a certain type (Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, etc.), and span it out until Halloween where I sit home and watch all of the Halloweens.

By the way Kody there are only 8 Halloweens...

Halloween: The Night He Came Home
Halloween II: More of the Night He Came Home
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Meyers
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Meyers
Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Meyers
Halloween H20: 20 Years Later
Halloween: Resurection

What can I say, I'm a horror freak! :D

I'm a fan of Rosemary's Baby (1968) and Psycho (1960). I also liked The Ring (2002). How about zombie movies? There's the old school, slow-moving zombies (Dawn of the Dead -1978) and the new, fast-moving ones (28 Days Later -2002 and Dawn of the Dead - 2004).

Try some of Alfred Hitchcocks movies like The Birds, Physco and he has a ton of other scary but not gory movies.
