Okay so i have a 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 and today i put my car in 3rd gear and floored it ... and it was fun and all.. and then after i hit 60 i stopped and pulled into my friends driveway and dropped him off and then i pulled back and my friend points at the floor where i was parked and liquid is dripping out.. i pull the car to the side and notice the front is dripping.. My temp on the car was really high *100 degrees*.. i looked under the car and water was dripping *it didnt smell like gas or oil* and so i look under the hood and there is water collected on the bottom like under my engine kinda... well anyway i leave it alone for a while.. and i go back to it and turn the heat on all the way and drive home *the temp went to 86 * *normally its at 82 or so*... and it stopped dripping while i was driving but when im parked it drips.. I cant tell if there is a hole under the car but i dont know what is wrong. What is wrong with my car? Did the radiator break? Please help me!

The color of the liquid is clear; no odor; and seems like water... when i was driving and flooring it i did not have the air conditioner on.. And why is it dripping from the bottom? is it cracked at the bottom of the car???

First question is what color is that liquid? Does it look like plain water (like the normal condensed humidity from the A/C) which is not too likely considering the other symptoms of overheating. Is it the same color as your engine coolant (orange)? If so that would be consistent with a cooling problem. When you got back home and looked the next AM was there a pool collected there?

While the car is cool if you take off the radiator cap and shine a light in there is there any coolant visible?

My guess is that sometime during your wild ride you may have hit a pothole and knocked a hose loose or had a worn engine mount that let your fan blade slice into the radiator when you floored it.

If the radiator is low add enough coolant/water mixture or even just plain water to get the level up and drive slowly to your car mechanic. You need to get an expert opinion before you burn out the engine. The mechanic can test to see where the fluid is leaking from.

It's probably just your coolant overflow. Water is pumped through out your engine while your moving when you stop so does the water giving it a chance if there's to much pressure to leak out. When you engine is COOL double check your radiators fluid level, and even your overflow tank. Fill it accordingly, 50/50 water/coolant is your best bet. Once filled let your car idle for some time and look under the hood. The overflow hose can either be connected by the cap of the radiator, or to the cap of the overflow tank. If your car overheats you now know it could either be a bad water pump or a cracked hose.

If it's orange, you have a coolant leak. Mercedes antifreeze is orange. If it's clear and odorless, it's probably just the condensation from the AC system. That car has automatic climate control and the AC compressor runs most of the time until the outside air temp drops to near freezing.

If the liquid is clear and odorless and looks like water, it probably is water.

Water can accumulate inside inner panels of the car if drain holes are clogged with leaves, etc.

Your wild ride may have shaken a clog in a drain hole loose and it is just the water drainig out.

Keep a eye on all your fluids and see if it keeps up.

You need to have your hoses and water pump checked. Does the water contain anti-freeze? If it doesn't, it's probably the air conditioner,

you probably have a leak in your cooling system . you should take the car to the mechanic and have a pressure test done on the system to determine where the leak is

it could either be your radiator leaking...which would turn up in color...or you have blown your water pump
