When I was in sixth grade, a fifth-grader from a neighboring school was kidnapped, raped and murdered. You can bet I was driven to school for a while after that.
When I was a senior in high school, I was a junior volunteer at a local hospital. The department supervisor asked me where I lived. I drew her a little maplet. She asked whether I knew where such-and-such a school was. I added to the little maplet. She asked me whether I remembered a certain name; I remembered the name and the incident cited above. She said the girl was her granddaughter.
Fortunately, at the time my mom was dropping me off at school; so I could say truthfully that I was not walking to school alone. I did not get into the issue of walking home from school. :-(

Hmm, where do I start? Well, there was one time in Jr. High when a drug addicted student got in a fight w/ a member of the faculty b/c she broke a mirror and was caught slicing her wrists w/ a broken piece. She was chased outside into the parking lot by several faculty members before she was apprehended and taken to the local mental facility. Then, also in Jr. High, I was sent to T.L.C., Transitional Learning Center, b/c I talked back to a teacher. We had to go to the bathroom in groups w/ a teacher standing right outside the stalls, not the bathroom entrance, the stalls. The stall doors didn't reach the bottom of the floor or over a student's head, as in if you were standing up in the stall someone outside the stall could see your head, neck and shoulders and your shins and feet. Creepy. Then there was the time during my sophmore year in H.S. when we had a bomb threat and all that was found was a remote control car. Oh! This is a good one. My junior year a guy decided he was going to beat a mentally retarded boy just b/c. It was the only time you saw jocks, preps, stoners, etc. unite to kick 1 guy's a$$ at one time. It was AWESOME!! Needless to say, the guy who beat up the retarded kid never came back to school. He wasn't killed, just humiliated and almost mutilated beyond imagination. None of the other kids got reprimanded. Also, during my junior year around graduation, 3 of the seniors decided that they were going to spray paint obscenities about the principal on the side of the school. Two of the 3 had FULL-RIDE scholarships to Notre Dame and Notre Dame revoked them b/c of their little prank. All 3 weren't allowed to graduate w/ their class. The year after I graduated one of the H.S. girls' gym coaches was arrested for possesion of methamphetamines on school grounds.

Catholic school 3rd grade
We were required to have two pencils in class...I only had one.
Nun asked us to get book out of the desk...when I did my pencil rolled down the desk and fell on the floor.
I looked around and did not see her so I reached behind me to pick it up.
She was standing there and the penguin stepped on my hand with her wooden leg.
Also was made to go do my work in another room alone with someone to watch me.
I did not mind because the slightly older girl was very pretty...I was a dog even in third grade.
True story

A bear came into my 4th grade class and started eating a kid. When the teacher tried to stop the bear, the bear slapped her across the room and into the window. The window broke cutting off the teachers hand. The bear started walking away with the boy who was still screeming. I don't know what happened after that. It gave me nightmares for years.

I was picked on real bad when I was in school. It wasn't until I was in Junior High when I was finally accepted. So I guess that the strangest thing that happened to me when I was in the school is that I was the kid every one picked on.

In Jr high (15 years ago) a kid in our clique brought a hand gun to school and it went off by accident. He was expelled on the spot but (this is terrible) we thought NOTHING of it. We lived in a nice part of town and were the cool kids so we thought it was just kind of funny. Nuts huh?

I'm not sure I understand your whole story but mine sounds pretty lame in comparison. I was in junior high and was wearing a long bead necklace and ran around the corner on a flight of stairs. My necklace wrapped onto the stair post and I almost hung myself! :(

there were cops everywhere and no one knew why since there are never any cops around. then we found out that it was because there were rumors about a school shooting. it was really weird being checked and all for weapons of any kind. it was about a week ago.
