fooled you, gold is measured by the troy system, so gold goes by 12 oz to the pound, instead of 16 oz to the pound

gold weighs more I believe its every 12 ounces of gold is actually a pound where as 16 ounces typically makes a pound,,,could be wrong but thats what I have always been told.

It doesn't matter what system it's weighed on, the gold will always be lighter than the bricks because of the number of friends and relatives who'll be around to help you carry it.
