My family just moved to Waynesboro, PA from Ohio and we don't know anyone here. We have small children and was just wondering about things in this area we could do with the family. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you like museums, there's the Renfrew Museum right in Waynesboro, lots of good, cheap local restaurants -- Parlor House is very good. Waynesboro Golf Course if you're into golf. This weekend there's an Apple Fest in Chambersburg and a big 3-day Fall Folk Festival about 28 miles to your west (Take Route 16 or 30) in Fulton County. Stop by at Fulton County Democratic headquarters on S. Second St. in McConnellsburg Saturday after the parade, say Hello and I'll spring for a bowl of chili for you (all kinds of home made; buck a cup!) How's that for starters?! New Hope Homeless Shelter in Waynesboro needs volunteers and the preacher at Christ UM Church, Bob Cook, is a very likeable progressive and a pretty good preacher, too! (Sorry, but I keep thinking of stuff!)

Waynesboro isn't racist, even though it quite is a conservative small city in Pennsylvania's Bible Belt (Franklin County and a exceptional form of of the PA Dutch area). because of the fact the different poster pronounced, Waynesboro is seeing growth because of the fact of human beings shifting out of the Washington DC area finding for decrease housing expenses.
