Jim Cavezel in Count of Monte Cristo (love this movie. I've seen 5 versions of it and it is the BEST by far!) or Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption? Shawshank was my favorite movie of all time and I love both performances. I can't pick which one.

I'll have to get back to you on this one- I have the version of Count of Monte Cristo with Guy Pearce and haven't watched it yet; while Morgan Freeman was great in Shawshank (he always delivers memorable performances) so much of what made that movie great was the performance by Tim Robbins, and the warden- so individually it's a tough call.

I have to say Freeman's performance was better. Cavezel is a good actor but Freeman is talent to be reckoned with.
