I can answer this question honestly because I work in a hospital and have plenty of MD friends
some of them are jerks but most of them are REALLY busy... (playing golf!)

Well I have a friend that works for a doctor and patients get so mad if he runs late. Most people don't keep it in mind that emergency's come in and have to be seen first. Sometimes someone comes in with a unique problem and the doctor has to spend a little bit more time with them.

a combination of true, legitimate emergencies (although it's hard to believe that there's an emergency EVERY time you go to the dr.), overbooking by staff and arrogance by the doctors.

that's not true. I weasel wacked my doctor across the face. boy was that a mistake. HE BEEN TRYING TO DATE ME FOR 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT NOW.
