They do cater more to government workers. ( Government Employees Insurance Company) I was with Progressive ~ and they are mad expensive compared to what I'm paying for Geico. Now I only pay $95 a month ~ where as with Progressive I was paying $150 and they were increasing... A lot of you stated State Farm ~ I think I'll get a quote :)

no, I tried them but it didn't work. I went with esurance instead. I got great coverage and am still a loyal customer. Plus it's over the internet. Once I had to show proof of insurance at work and all I did was log in and e-mailed a copy of it. I was done in 2 minutes-record time according to the accounting dept.

We saved a bunch of money when we switched from Geico to USAA! They give us huge discounts since we're a Military family. Especially when we got stationed here in Italy. Geico wanted 1,500 a year to insure my husband's motorcycle while we are stationed here, but USAA is only charging us 200.00 a year. USAA is also nearly three times less then Geico was to insure our cars. Insurance rates are higher while overseas, but Geico's prices were ridiculous.

Here is Consumer Reports comments on Geico:
When it comes to buying auto insurance, GEICO is trying hard to get you to switch. The company spent more than a hundred million dollars on advertising last year. The commercials make it look like a phone call to GEICO could mean big savings. Consumer Reports checked to see.
This particular GEICO commercial uses dogs to promote its auto insurance. And like all GEICO ads, it gives the impression you are bound to save money in short order.
"Fifteen minutes could save you 15 percent or more on car insurance."
Consumer Reports checked out that catchy ad line, asking staffers to make a call to GEICO.
"I am calling to get a quote on GEICO auto insurance."
They wanted to see if GEICO would give them a quote in 15 minutes and just how much they could save on their car insurance.
GEICO did deliver the quotes in about 15 minutes or so. But only four of the 14 people who called would save by switching to GEICO. The others would actually be paying more.
"I'd be paying about 200 dollars more with GEICO than with my current insurer."
Some would have seen an even bigger increase with GEICO. Six-hundred-and-eighteen dollars more for this staffer.
And 689 dollars more for this staffer.
Lisa Freeman, Deputy Editor of Consumer Reports Money Adviser, says though you may not save with GEICO the idea of shopping around is right on the money.
"If GEICO gets you to make a phone call to check out what their rates are. That is great. Just don't stop at GEICO. Keep calling. A few phone calls can save you hundreds of dollars in auto insurance premiums every year."
Like these dogs in the GEICO commerical, Consumer Reports says if you don't check the going rates for car insurance, you could be taken for a ride.
They note that cheap car insurance is best found by investing time, educating yourself and comparison shopping. Many online websites are designed to be an invaluable resource for insurance shoppers like you in this process. One of the top websites is InsureMe. Check it out at: http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=614506&Type=auto. You can get up to five insurance quotes from insurance agents who can help you make the best decision regarding your insurance. Once again, shop around, get multiple quotes, and learn all you can about a policy before you buy car insurance.
