Let's say you go to a communtiy college. Would you:
A) not transfer to a 4 year - take the Associates and run
B) transfer to a 4 year right away
C) take a year off and then transfer
When you answer, please say whether you are (or have been or will be) a communtiy college student. I need this for school (I already know what I'm doing, though).
Thanks!

I have not been a college student in any form but, I am encouraging my daughter to go to a community and transfer to a 4 year college right away.

I never took a break because had I did, I know I probably wouldn't go back. I chose not to go to a community college because I wanted all of my credits to come from the same school and I didn't want to risk loosing and of my credit hours, so I chose a four year college and finished a B.A in 5yrs with a double major then I continued on to another college to get my masters in education and I'm 29yrs old. With that degree I taught 3rd grade for 2yrs and then I changed my career and entered law enforcement. I'm thinking about going back to school for another degree but like I said once you stop its hard to get back into that kind of learning mode!!!

I'd definitely transfer to a four-year school. I started off going to a four-year and never finished college. Looking back, I went about it all wrong and while I don't regret my life, I certainly could have looked at all my options before I went to school. If I'd put more thought into it, I would have gone to a CC for my Associates and then transfered to a four-year school.

Don't take time off, chances are you won't want to return. I did a two year and then transferred to a 4 year, which didn't work out. so I came home for a semester to look for a new school, started working fulltime and it was tough to go back. But, my parents pressured me hard. I also took a break between undergrad. and graduate and it took awhile to get back for that too.

Dont take a year off, or you will never want to go back.
