All incorrect solutions. Ask a fireman why. he help you appreciate that x% of domicile fires start up this form. except you turn off on the factor you nevertheless have stay electrical energy working into your pc appropriate as much as this is maximum dodgy, maximum overloaded, shortest lasting and maximum poorly made factor - the flexibility furnish. this is the only section i've got had to turn on each and every pc i've got owned ! The final one went "BANG !" after twelve months, yet did no longer seize fire. Smelled real undesirable although. My sparky advised me to unplug all my home equipment different than the refrigerator: television, VCR, washer/drier, even clocks. Unplug the lot. this is all made in China now, no longer as much as previous standards. Worse once you're a 240V united states, maximum stuff is only made for 220 volts. Downlights are the worst.

Yes. I disconnect all cables to the PC, and all peripherals, that lead outside the home (power, telephone, cable, etc) because I do not want lightning to have a path to get inside my PC.
