Honor students do athletics, band, etc.... why can't others work the same number of hours at a job?

As long as you keep your priorities straight, it shouldn't hurt, and might even help.

I am a full time college student ( I am taking 16 credit hours..... 5 classes). I work only part time as a Secretary at a local real estate office. Work really does effect the way a student preforms. For many college students, work is put above school. The reasons are that you HAVE to show up for work... not necessarily for your classes. Also, at my job, it is tough b/c they almost forget that I am a student and school REALLY does come first. Even though my work is flexible,it does take up a lot of the little time that I have. I am doing alright in school, I know I could do better. It really boils down to TIME! It really is precious when you are in school. I do believe that most people should work while in school whether is be high school or college... but it should NEVER interfere with school.
