If you were to invent a car in the future what would it be like?

Most importantly, it would be a "smart" car.

It would have full time high speed connection to internet servers that monitor all aspects of the vehicle, its location, and its functions. If it was going to run out of energy (I'll explain below), you'd be alerted and directed to the nearest recharging station. If it needed a part serviced, it would alert the service station or repair shop, and they would contact you. If you got too close to another car, it would brake, or steer you towards safety. Accidents would be almost impossible because every car would be constantly monitored by internet "virtual highways." GPS navigation would be automatic. You could even choose to sit back and let the car drive you to where you wanted to go. The car could never be stolen because it would immediately shut down and alert the police if an unauthorized person tried to start it, or get in it. It would also monitor your body functions so if you started to doze off, or got ill, it would take over driving, or safely come to a stop.

Mechanically, it would be tremendously advanced. All systems and functions would be monitored for slight deviations, indicating potential trouble. You'd never get a blow-out at high speed, or find your AC didn't work on the first hot summer day. The powerplant would be a zero emissions electric motor, powered by solar charged battery packs that you'd be able to "change out" at any power station (similar to our current gas stations), or you could have your own spare sets at home. All vehicles would use the exact same battery packs, so you would always be able to swap with others.

Safety systems would be highly advanced, and automatically monitored. 360 degree airbags would protect all passenger's in the rare event an accident occurred. Glass would be shatterproof and automatically tint in bright sun, and heat up to defrost snow that fell overnight. Proximity sensors would prevent you from ever hitting something while parking, and doors would have sensors to hamper them so you could not hit adjacent parked cars.

The car would also be ultra programmable and customizable. Engine-tones, skins, audio, video, body panel color, networking with all forms of media.

I would look to the Muscle cars of the Sixties for exterior design. Test them in a wind tunnel and make sure they're stream-lined to reduce drag on the motor.

I would make the interiors similar to what we have been used to during the last four decades with interchangeable accessories.

It would be perpetually powered by an electric motor that gets it's electricity from a magneto<(back to the future...NOT the movie!!!), powered by the electric motor, therefore having a continuous self-renewable source of power.

That way we all could stick our middle fingers up at OPEC and laugh our @22es off when they fall!!!

A flying car, I always wanted to have.. Looks like a aerodynamical shaped classical known cars but have wings and have 4 fan blower at 2 in the front and 2 in the back.These r helping both when taking upwards and going forward or back but main function is to take off from the ground.Main pushing system is some kind of improved pushing system that doesn't exist now but will be found at future.It spends much energy but at those times there will be found another kind of ultra energy saving energy cubes imprisoning the plasma kind energy containing unstabil material and controlled without touching the borders by magnetic field.These cells will consume its own energy but can contain much more than it consumes so it will be possible to be able to store the energy in it.Acceleration will be by some kind of air flowing pushing system but main pushing system and maintenance is the system i told a little while ago.Air resistance will become almost to zero because some kind of nano laser systems all over the hood will will make the air around (esp. in the front) a plasma and a kind of magnetic field will remove the air around so that the space around will exist no more. There will be many air highways in most layers of athmosphere.For instance when your car reached a formerly determined speed level, it will jump to a higher air highway automatically by a system controlled by many many satellites and a many many comp. systems all over the world.Gps systems will help this coordination.Cars outer hood's much will look glass or many parts of it will be some kind of new material formed by a rearrengement of carbon and some other elements (great possibility titanium and aluminium and some 7a elements).It will be transparent and its transparency will be able to be controlled by user both at inside and outside parts.There will be no sound at all.Because at that time, it will be used anti sound wave system as a standard. A triple computer or more will always controll all the systems' harmony and you won't have to controll the car any more.You will say the place to the car and the voice system (you will choose from more than 1000 voice samples or more.. and you can buy one of them always and download to your car's brain) will say "where would u want to go master / maam / mr ? "(or anything you want it to say,u will be able to buy these via net in your car) It will ask you that you want to drink a cup of coffee with or witout milk or anything you want? A prepared one will come in front of you soon.You will be able to watch your 3d visioned tv interactively.Via this system you will be able to reach google or somethin like google or anythin u want directly just saying and without typing any words.And if you still want to drive anyway, there will be special way areas who want to drive his/her car freely without traffic police because even if you want to bump your car somewhere it is not permitted by the comp and satellite system.u r permitted until you do a wrong move.U can do anything without even thinking because all the moves you will do will be automatically corrected.Driving will just be a fun and will look like the comp games we play now.Just think that you are diving in a very high speed and getting upwards soon after then.If you really love speed, u will love this too.Braking systems will look like some kind of parachute made of metals and this system will also help the steering system.Be sure these all will give to the driver ultimate driving pleasure.And in the future everyone will be able to buy one of these cars.Even children elder than 12 years old will have one of them.There r more and more and more in my head but there is not enough time. The exterior will be flexible metal. It has a radar of all cars and tells you what cars can give you potential danger based on its driver. Interior will be leather with 8 seats. It will run on sugar and water. It can travel on land and water. With adjustable seats.
