Don't get me wrong I like Tyra Banks and her shows but why is it that on top model they always portray her as being a legendary super model and one of the best in the industry. I don't recall her ever being even close to a Kate Moss or a Naomi Campbell............all she really was famous for was Sports Illustrated and Victoria's Secret. Doesn't sound very top model to me. So what's your take on Tyra?

I really like her but my point is she was never as huge as a super model as Naomi was............I don't like Naomi and I know she isn't famous anymore but Tyra never got close to her modeling career.

I agree with you on that one. Tyra only appealed to men when she did Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated but once she got Top Model and her talk show she is more well liked by women. But Beverley Johnson and Iman were the original black supermodels and they still look good for sistas in their 50s.But Liya Kebede is the best model because she's still fresh and new.

Tyra and Naomi have been modelling for the same amount of time.Naomi always got gigs over Tyra because she was considered slim, and in the modelling world Tyra was too fat. This is why Tyra Banks said she quit her modelling career. But Tyra Banks was the first African American to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

I like Tyra. But I want to know what Naomi was famous for except who she dated, which video she was in or which personal assistant she slapped.

Victorias secret and Sport's illustrated are big time. They only get "top models". Her television show gives insight to how shallow the woman is. It's a direct take off from Oprah. Her theme's are superficial and unoriginal.

I think she is far more successful than either Kate Moss or Naomi Campbell, and so her name is both more recognizable and thus marketable. She has done well for herself, regardless of her modeling talents.

Well - she is the one who is more personable....
They don't make a big deal out of celebrities who can't hold their own in a conversation....
Think about the other models and you will see that the ones who are friendly and talkative can go a lot further for a lot longer...
