I will be using it strickly for a cargo hauler ( those basket/platform that attaches to it )

If it is one of those hitches that simply attache to the rear bumper, NO! They will pull your bumper off. You need one that will attach to the intended point where BMW designated a hitch should be attached to.

in case you have already got a bumper that's rated good sufficient, and is on the marvelous top for a trailer hitch, you do no longer want an "decrease than the bumper" trailer hitch, surprisingly to tug a small U-haul trailer. only get a 2" ball from any vehicle factors keep (decrease than $10). in spite of the indisputable fact that, you will nevertheless want the wiring for trailer lighting fixtures. ======================================...

Also, load everything heavy onto the front of the trailer. You want the trailer to push the bumper down, not pull it up. This keeps you from careening out of control should you hit a bump or swerve.

Be carefull.Our friends used one to move with and they blew the transmission.
