In need of some suggestions for a natural sleeping aid.
When bed time arrives, I normally lay in bed and watch some television until I become very tired, and then I fall into a deep restful sleep.
The problem arises after I've been sleeping for some time.
I just completely wake up after about one hour. I'm wide awake and then go back to sleep. This pattern happens all through the night. I wake up at least 4-6 times each night.
There is NEVER a night when I sleep straight through.
This has been going on for about 4 months, and yes I've tried to pin point some type of change in my lifestyle, but cannot put my finger on anything specificly.
During the day, thank goodness I don't become tired, but believe me, by 10pm I am ready for the bed and then the same ritual begins once again.
Would greatly appreciate any healthy suggestions!!

are you having stress???
you really need to consult a doctor...
you can take warm milk before sleep...
or exercise before sleep, to make your body feel tired...
or when you can't sleep, you can try and imagine your whole body being coloured with blue and then red, your brain will then feel tired and gradully fell asleep...
hope your problem will be resolved...good luck...

hun, i guess you need to try this out... try to be awake till late in the night, like you said you sleep at 10, try to make it 11 or 12 slowly so that by the time you are falling asleep, you are really so sleepy that you wont wake up anytime in between... and another thing, do you have any tensions or stuff? Remember nothing can be done by getting tensed or having any pressure on your mind while sleeping, its just gonna spoil your health too... so take proper food before going to bed like warm milk, some fruits and stuff and sleep by 12... and the most important thing, just think that whatever you have (problems), you can solve them tomorrow and make yourself feel you are very happy today...

First thing - dont watch TV in bed til you're sleepy and fall asleep. Stay in the lounge to watch TV and go to bed to a cool bed that you havent spent ages in watching TV. Dont ask why - this just really helps me.
Second thing - go to bed, lie on your back and try to clear your mind of absolutely everything - the good, the bad, the things that you want to think about - just think of nothing. Let yourself sink into a natural sleep.
If it helps imagine you're someplace relaxing - lying on a beach, listening to the ocean - but somewhere quiet and peaceful. Again, this should help.
If you're ready for bed by 10pm try staying up later. try staying up til 11pm. It might be a struggle, but may prove to be a good thing. Try reading to tire you out.
Should this fail try Kalms sleep, lavender pillow mists or candles

He'll have to get used to it, or sleep somewhere else. A friend of mine has parents who sleep in different beds, mainly because they keep each other awake with snoring. If they feel like sleeping in the same bed, they do, but for the most part they're in different rooms. I'm the same way too though. I would simply prefer to sleep alone. It's definitely nothing personal. Talk to him about it.

Hi my name is Shantika,
I have a suggestion and the question you asked was," how you get sleep when you can't sleep?" Okay my suggestion is that when your up do some chores like everything that make you tired,or listen to a song in the pitch dark over and over to help you fall asleep. It always work for me...until then I hope it turns out for you to get enough sleep if not you should talk to your local doctor about your situations.

Try a couple of days without caffeine, junk food, and MSG. Some people are more sensitive to these than others. MSG is in all junk food and is heavily used in fast food. Especially avoid Hardies as I have noticed that I get an MSG headache halfway through one of their sandwiches, which causes me to conclude that the MSG in their food is likely to be *extremely* high. Cookies, chips and candy are also high in MSG. MSG is a neurotoxin invented in the 1970s and has been added in increasing amounts to pre-prepared food ever since.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.
